Today I hung out with a friend playing Atari games, so I didn't have time for much computing; however, I didn't use a newer computer so I didn't break any rules (and the Atari 7800 probably counts as old enough for the challenge anyway).
I'm going to append my forum post for my retrospective of the challenge here:
My experience so far has been mixed. It's been nice to use this laptop's fantastic keyboard instead of my smartphone's touch keyboard for some stuff. It's also been nice to read books instead of watching YT. It's been nice in some ways to take things slowly, though the enforced slowness of a dodgy connection is just annoying. The boredom on the train has been annoying: I should make an exception for ebooks. Lack of software that works on little RAM has also been an issue (and I didn't expect to receive images in emails too big for flpicsee to cope with). I'm pleased with how quickly I got the scripts for Xidel working, but I haven't read as many of the feeds as I was expecting to. I guess, in a terminal, they all end up looking the same, somehow?

At some point, I still need to publish my scripts for the Mastodon API...
Anyway, this is day 7, so it's back to modern computers tomorrow!
